Big hospital interests are learning that Speaker Matt Hall and House Republicans will not back down from a fight to lower healthcare costs.
According to Gateway Pundit, unnamed sources described hospital lobbyists threatening political consequences if Republicans continued pursuing reforms to expose secret facility fees. Republicans moved forward anyway. Hospital interests are now spending heavily against Republican candidates.
Hall’s proposal would require nonprofit hospitals to cut prices by 10%, justify future increases and submit detailed financial information to a Hospital Cost Review Board. The broader Republican package would also curb consolidation and strengthen competition.
Families should not have to decipher confusing medical bills or wonder why the same appointment suddenly costs more after a hospital system buys their doctor’s practice. They deserve transparent prices and accountability.
Hospital interests can spend money attacking Republicans. Hall and his caucus should keep fighting to save patients money. Full steam ahead.
