Michigan families and businesses do not need to guess what Democrats would do if they regain control in Lansing. They are already showing us.
Democrat-backed proposals include raising Michigan’s corporate income tax from 6 percent to 10 percent, pushing the minimum wage to 20 dollars an hour, and imposing new workplace rules on scheduling, temporary workers, and wage disclosures. Republicans argue these bills preview a costly agenda that would make Michigan less competitive and more expensive for employers, workers, and families.
Speaker Matt Hall and House Republicans are the firewall stopping that agenda right now.
At a time when families are already paying too much, Democrats are lining up tax hikes, mandates, and new costs. House Republicans are focused on affordability, lower costs, and protecting taxpayers from another round of Lansing overreach.
Michigan cannot afford the Democrat agenda. Speaker Hall is making sure families and businesses do not have to pay for it.
